Advising
Advisors are assigned to students according to their expressed elective emphasis. Until a student decides, their advisor is the Department Chair. A student may also meet with the Chair at any time.

Overview of the Advising Plan
The Advising Plan for the Department of Public Administration identifies several points of advising intervention and strategies for advising students to ensure that they receive the best possible information about the Department of Public Administration and the M.P.A. degree. These points of intervention include:
- Immediately after a student has been admitted
- When a student is deciding upon an elective emphasis
- When a student files the GAP
- Any other time there is a question.
- The Department recommends seeking advising every semester.
