2008 Urban Studies Senior Seminar (URBS 680) at San Francisco State University


Urban Studies Senior seminar students are working on twelve projects for ten clients during the spring 2008 semester in two separate sections. The projects were selected through an RFP process (see RFP 2008).They will present PowerPoint slides of their findings to clients and BSS College faculty on April 30th and May 5. 1. Research and analysis pertaining to an update of the Recreation and Open Space Element of San Francisco's General Plan (Client: SF Recreation and Park Department and Planning Department)

2. Mission Cultural resources documentation (Client: San Francisco Planning Department)

3. Planning and design for safety along 24th Street in San Francisco's Mission District (Client: Mission Economic Development Agency -- MEDA)

4. Field research on street vendors in San Francisco's Mission District (Client: Mission Economic Development Agency -- MEDA)

5. Traffic Calming – best practices and test case design proposal (Client: SF Municipal Transportation Agency -- MTA)

6. Using demographic analysis to document change in San Francisco neighborhoods (Client: SF Board of Supervisors, Sophie Maxwell's Office)
