Prerequisites: Upper division standing. URBS major, minor, or consent of instructor.
Lectures and discussion of seminal classic and contemporary writings on the most important topics in Urban Studies. Intensive practice in written and oral communication skill. - The Urban Studies Program and the Office of International Programs have partnered and hosted 20 selected Korean students from the University of Seoul this winter (Jan. 2-18, 2008). Faculty from Urban Studies, Geography, and Public Administration delivered lectures and field trips on urban studies and planning topics. See images

- Professor Pinderhughes participated on a panel discussion on green collar jobs at UC Berkeley in November (November 29, 2007) hosted by UC's Institute for the Study of Social Change, UC Berkeley Labor Center and the College of Natural Resources.

- Professor Pamuk gave a research presentation at the Visiting Scholars Roundtable hosted by the Institute of Urban and Regional Development at UC Berkeley (Nov. 7, 2007).
- Professor Ayse Pamuk gave a presentation at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, Netherlands (October 15, 2007) and chaired a session on Comparative Methods in International Research at the ACSP conference in Milwaukee (October 20, 2007).
- Professor Richard LeGates presented a paper, titled "Incorporating Spatial Reasoning in Planning Education: Lessons from the U.K. at the ACSP conference in Milwaukee (October 20, 2007)
