NOTICE OF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Position Title: Organizational Assistant
Organization: 1906 Earthquake Centennial Alliance
Location: Alliance office, 85 Second Street, 8th
Floor, San Francisco
Description: Provide logistical,
administrative and outreach support to Alliance leadership team and membership.
Reports
to: Earl Aurelius, Executive Director
Dates: Effective immediately, continues through Spring
of 2006
Key
Responsibilities:
-
Work closely with Alliance leadership to provide customer service through
telephone and other general inquires regarding the Alliance events
-
Retrieve, respond and/or forward telephone, e-mail messages and US mail that
come into the Alliance office
-
Assist with membership and member project coordination
-
Write and email new member welcome letter
-
Assist Alliance Coordinator with the logistical setup of the quarterly
General Meetings and Steering Committee meetings
-
Serve as a recorder and write up minutes from Alliance General and Steering
Committee meetings

Assist Executive Director with fundraising outreach campaign efforts
-
Assist with publicity efforts for member events

and Qualifications:

Good written and oral communications

Customer relations skills

Detail oriented and resourceful

Ability to work well independently

General computer skills, including internet

Preferred familiarity with disaster/hazards issues
Development Opportunities:
