Unique Opportunity for Students
Do an Internship with the
Bay Area Holocaust Oral History Project
We are a non-profit organization devoted to collecting and preserving the eyewitness accounts of survivors, witnesses and liberators of the Nazi Holocaust. We have collected more than 1,600 interviews on both video and audiotape over the past 20 years. In the Bay Area, we are the primary site for collection of these testimonies in oral history form. Our interviews go to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and to local archives.
This internship offers hands-on learning and experience. If you are studying any of the following, this may be the internship you have been looking for:
· Journalism; Communications; Film
· Jewish studies; Religious studies; Languages
· History, Public history; Ethnic studies
· Sociology; Psychology; Education
· Digital media; Website design
Some of our ongoing projects need your help! These include cataloging taped interviews, digitizing our collection, administrative support, and website maintenance. There are also opportunities for your own projects involving research, Internet access, and community outreach. This internship offers great variety and flexibility.
Interns and volunteers have been among the most valuable members of our organization. We hope you will join us!
