Bookmarks

To create a bookmark:

1)  A Bookmark allows you to jump to a particular place in anywhere in your document.
2)  Each Bookmark consists of two parts: an item in a list of places that you wish to jump to and a target or bookmark in the actual text.
3)  To start make a list near the top of the document of the places in the text you wish to jump to.
4)  Within the text, go to each item, highlight it, pull down the Insert Menu and select Bookmark.
5)  In the dialogue box you should see the highlighted text.  Click on OK.  You have created a Bookmark.
6)  Repeat Step five until you have identified all of the Bookmarks.
7)  Once the Bookmarks have been identified, return to your original list.  For each item, highlight it and click on the hyperlink icon.
8)  In the dialogue box, select the Bookmark option on the right. This will open a box with the list of your Bookmarks.  Select the appropriate one and click OK. Repeat until all items on the list have been linked to their bookmarks.
9) Now when you click on an item on your list it will jump to the spot on the page with the corresponding Bookmark.
10)  It is also a good idea to create a "Return to Top" Bookmark at places you have link to in the text.  In this case, create a Bookmark to something near the top of the page and link Return to Top to that Bookmark, so the reader may easily return to where they started.
