Community Work:
Rita Melendez
is currently working with two
community based
organizations funded through the
National AIDS
Fund and the Johnson &
Johnson Foundation for research on and prevention of HIV
among women and families. Cynthia Gomez leads the technical
assistance team.
Dr.
Melendez has
worked as part of Sexuality Training and Research (STAR) as well
as the MOSAIC programs at the
HIV Center for Clinical
and Behavioral Studies.
She
helped launch a web page dedicated to promoting health and
sexuality for Spanish speakers --
SexualidadesLatinas.org.
She looks forward to working
with and conducting research with
The Ark of Refuge.
