Martin
Carcieri is Assistant Professor of Political Science, specializing
in Public Law and Political Theory. A former practicing attorney, he
holds a B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy from Cal State Los Angeles, a J.D.
from UC Hastings, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from UC Santa
Barbara. He previously taught at
the University of North Florida and the University of Tennessee,
Knoxville, and his teaching interests include Constitutional Law,
Jurisprudence, Ancient Political Theory, and American Political Theory.
His work has been cited in four State appellate court decisions and in
amicus curiae briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court in four landmark cases.
He is completing a book entitled “Rawls, Reparations and the Drug War:
Toward a Theory and Practice of Racial Justice” and his articles
