As China’s most prestigious university, Peking University was founded in 1898 and has a long tradition of scholarly excellence and political activism. Its primary mission is to train scholars for advanced research in the natural and social sciences. More than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled, along with 2,000 international students. Located in northwestern Beijing in what  was once the private garden of the imperial family, the 700 acre college campus is one of the most beautiful academic settings in the world.
