The Learning and Development Lab is currently conducting various cross-cultural studies:
Elementary School study:
Coordinators: Al Motter & Simin Niksiar
Our lab's longest running study examines the cognitive development of English, French,
Korean, and Chinese speaking first and second grade students.
Preschool Study:
Coordinators: Manuel Gonzales & Michael Hayes
This study examines the teaching styles of Taiwanese, Peruvian, and American teachers.
English, Korean, Chinese, and Peruvian preschool children’s cognitive development will
also assessed.
Ethnic Identity:
Coordinators: Hollie Adams & Racheal Chandra
This study will examine the relationship between ethnic identity, parental support, romantic
relationships, and academic achievement in college students.
