Captain Paul Lorence received his Bachelor of Arts in History, Summa Cum
Laude, from San Francisco State University in 1980. Air Force Captain
Lorence died in the line of duty over Libya in 1986. He is survived his wife
and son, and by his parents, the Krugers. The Krugers present the Paul
Lorence Undergraduate Scholarship in History, a cash prize of $500.00 to one
student a year in the Department of History. Former Department Chair Jerry Combs says "the scholarship is intended to recognize accomplishment by a History Major." Grade point average and participation in History Department activities will be taken into consideration.
