  Focus on Resource Management
The theme central to this focus is the use and abuse of natural resources. Geographers in local, state and federal agencies are responsible for resource inventory and appraisal, policy formulation and management. Basic to their work are mapping and spatial analysis utilizing imaging and GIS techniques, integrating specialists’ reports and recommendations into staff reports and general plans.

Focus:
A minimum of 12 units from the following
  • Geog 316: Biogeography
  • Geog 427: Agriculture and Food Supply

  • Geog 647: Geog of Water Resources
  • Geog 648: Management of National Parks & Natural Areas
