Travel Information
All conference events will take place at the Holiday Inn Fisherman’s Wharf at 1300 Columbus Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94133.
Note:
- The conference hotel does not have shuttle service to SFO, while BART provides easy access to Embarcadero Station from the airport on arrival. MUNI buses or historic streetcars link Embarcadero Station to BART. Cabs are also available from the Embarcadero Station to locations in and around downtown for about $9, so anyone coming into downtown from SFO can take a cab to the conference hotel rather than have to negotiate a travel bag-suitcase on a streetcar or bus.
- APCGers who have early flights out will need to make other arrangements as BART does not operate on Sundays before 8 am. Please check in with the Hotel Bellman at least 24 hours in advance for assistance in arranging shuttle or taxi service for your departure. Cab service to SFO from the Holiday Inn costs about $50; SuperShuttle or other shuttle services charge $15 per passenger.
Automobile Directions:
From San Francisco International Airport: Follow Highway 101 North. Take the Mission / Van Ness exit. Follow Van Ness for three miles. Turn right onto North Point Street. Continue on North Point Street for four blocks until you arrive at a three-way intersection at North Point, Columbus, and Leavenworth. The Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf will be on the left, at 1300 Columbus Avenue.
From I-80 Westbound: Cross the Bay Bridge into San Francisco. Exit left at Main / Embarcadero. Continue, and exit at Harrison. Continue to Embarcadero. Turn left onto North Point Street. Continue on Columbus Avenue. The Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf will be at 1300 Columbus Avenue.
From Oakland International Airport: Take I-880 North towards Downtown Oakland. Take the I-580 West exit towards San Francisco. Take the I-80 West exit to San Francisco, and continue across the Bay Bridge. Take the Embarcadero and Harrison Street Exit on the left side of the Bay Bridge. Turn right on Harrison Street. Turn left on Embarcadero. Turn left onto North Point Street. Continue onto 1300 Columbus Avenue. The Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf will be on the immediate right.
Directions by Public Transportation:
BART is the fastest and easiest way to get downtown from the airport. Trains depart the SFO International Terminal every 15 minutes. The half-hour ride to downtown San Francisco costs a bit over $8.00 each way.
Once downtown, you have at least two public transit options:
Option A: Historic Streetcars ($2.00 each way)
Exit BART at Embarcadero Station. Buy a Clipper reloadable transit card* before exiting the station; these are available on the station’s upper level. Walk east to Ferry Plaza. Take the MUNI F streetcar to the turn-around at Jones Street. Walk 1 block west to the hotel. Option B: Cable Car ($5.00 each way, and may involve a long wait)
Exit BART at Powell Street Station. Buy a Clipper reloadable transit card* before exiting the station; these are available on the station’s upper level. Exit the station at Powell and Market Streets. Take the Powell-Mason Cablecar to the Mason Street turnaround. Walk 2 blocks west and 1 block north to the hotel.
