The 2011 APCG conference will take place at the Holiday Inn Fisherman’s Wharf, located in the heart of San Francisco. We have blocked nonsmoking rooms at the hotel at a special conference rate of $149/night plus tax for up to four guests per room, so you can stay where all the conference events occur. Overnight parking is an additional $25/night so please consider carpooling, bicycling or using public transportation.
Reserve your room as soon as possible (but no later than September 1) to ensure you receive the conference rate. Call the Hotel reservations department at 1-800-942-7348. Be sure to mention that you are with the Association of Pacific Coast Geographers to receive the group rate.

Why should I stay at the conference hotel?
- It’s one of the nicer and more affordable hotels in the area and we have negotiated a very good rate for conference participants.
You will be right where the action is! Walk to and from the conference, and don't miss out on any events.
Help make the 2011 APCG meeting a financial success: booking guest rooms at the conference hotel saves a bit of money on convention facilities, leaving more funds for student subsidies, events, food & activities.
Does the $149 rate apply to stays prior or after the conference?
No. Another major conference begins on Monday, so the APCG conference room rate only extends through Saturday night.
What about parking?
Hotel parking for overnight guests is available for $25 per day, plus tax, with in-and-out privileges.
Limited parking will be available for day use at a rate of $15 plus tax per day; cars must be out of the garage by 7 PM.
The hotel garage has limited space for bicycle parking, which will be provided free of charge.
Street parking is in extremely short supply in the vicinity of the hotel, and parking citations are very expensive.
Please enjoy San Francisco the way it was built to be enjoyed: on foot, by bicycle (there are a number of rental facilities nearby) or by public transit!
What about internet connectivity?
The hotel offers free, high-speed wireless internet.
