Willie L. Brown Internships
The Willie L. Brown Internship Program selects outstanding SF State students from all academic majors and places them in San Francisco city agencies and organizations engaged in work that is relevant to their professional aspirations. The program combines practical experience and professional development by giving students the opportunity to experience and then discuss the mechanics, politics, and challenges of local government during an academic seminar. Interns gain valuable work experience in SF government agencies; receive a $2,000 stipend for their work; obtain 3 units of academic credit for AU 600 internship seminar; and are mentored by professionals working in the public sector. Drop in to one of these regularly scheduled events or give us a call to talk about creating a volunteer project just for your group. Mt. Tamalpais Trail Crew Saturday, November 7, 2009, 9 am to 2 pm Sky Oaks Trail improvement. Rain or shine! Come help us maintain and dress up the trail before its dedication as the Alex Forman Trail. We will meet at the Lagunitas Picnic Area at the end of Sky Oaks Road, off of Bolinas Road in Fairfax at 9 am. Mt. Tamalpais Habitat Restoration Saturday, November 21, 2009, 9 am to noon Invasive species removal at Pine Point on the northern lakeshore of Bon Tempe. Invasive vegetation includes French broom, pampas grass, Douglas fir seedlings, pine seedlings and cotoneaster. We will meet at the Lagunitas Picnic Area at the end of Sky Oaks Rd., off of Bolinas Road in Fairfax at 9 am. Please note that all events are subject to cancellation due to heavy rain. Please call (415) 945-1128 the morning of the event. It could be raining on Mt. Tam. but sunny 10 miles away or vice versa!

AACE Upward Bound Saturday College Instructor
