Blogs from ENVS Faculty & Students around the Globe

We are excited to offer you the chance to follow two of our faculty and one student who are doing environment-related work in other countries. Check back often for updates!

Brent Plater, ENVS Lecturer, is in Trinidad during the Spring 2010 semester on a Fulbright Scholarship. See his blog for updates and photos of his work there.

Sara Camp, an ENVS major (ESSJ) is in Copenhagen representing 350.org. Her blog is hosted on the College of Behavioral & Social Sciences webpage.

350.org - Int'l Day of Climate Activism

ENVS Faculty and Students were actively involved in the October 24th International Day of Climate Activism – led by 350.org. The actions were designed to educate the public and policy makers that 350 parts per million carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the maximum safe level, and therefore we need rapid and deep cuts in greenhouse gas emissions. For the San Francisco 350 event in Justin Herman Plaza, ENVS student Sara Camp was on the planning committee and works in the Berkeley 350.org office. Also participating were ENVS faculty Glenn Fieldman, Carlos Davidson & family, and Logan Hennesey & family (his daughter is in the bear photo from the San Francisco Chronicle). In Pacifica, ENVS Director Carlos Davidson was one of the lead organizers for the Pacifica Climate Committee sponsored event.
