Listed below are just a few highlights from the College of Behavioral & Social Sciences:
- One of only two winners in SF State of the prestigious Harry S. Truman Scholarship in 2006 was Rebekah Enoch, international relations major: The other winner from Northern California was from Stanford University.
- Kathleen Rives, a social psychology student was awarded the 2007/2008 William R. Hearst/CSU Trustees' Award for Outstanding Achievement.
- First Endowed Chair in SF State, Jamie and Phyllis Pasker Chair, was in the College of BSS’ Department of History.
- First and only Masters Degree in Human Sexuality Studies in the United States with a social sciences approach is in the College of BSS.
- College of BSS’ Department of History ranks first in the country in sending its students to PhD programs among those schools that only offer a master's degree.
