The United States and the World in 21st Century

College of Behavioral and Social Sciences

A special course/public lecture series sponsored by San Francisco State University’s College of Behavioral and Social Sciences and its distinguished faculty is offered this Fall to help the campus community and the public better understand the post 9/11 global situation. The Bush Administration has sought to implement a policy of unilateral military intervention, achieve Iraq regime change through military means and respond to global conflicts in the Korean Peninsula, the Middle East, the Philippines, Africa, South America, and Europe. Weekly guest lectures will be offered by BSS and Humanities faculty experts followed by discussion, with a special commemorative program on the 9/11 event on the evening of the September 11th class.

  • Dean Joel Kassiola, Associate Dean Marjorie Seashore, and Former Ambassador, Diplomat in Residence David Fischer, International Relations, SFSU will moderate.

    BSS 277 sessions will be held on Thurs evenings, 7-9pm, Aug. 28-Dec. 11, on the SFSU campus, Humanities Auditorium, Room 133.

    Lectures are held on Thursday evenings, 7-9pm, Aug. 28-Dec. 11, on the SFSU campus, in the Humanities Auditorium, Room HUM133.

    The general public is welcome to attend on a space-available basis. Individuals enrolled in the course (through Regular University or the College of Extended Learning) have first priority for seating.
