Physical Geography

Course Objectives: This course examines the broad range topics that define physical geography.  Themes include many aspects of climatology, weather, landforms, the hydrosphere, fluvial processes, glacial process the biosphere and much more.  Additionally, we will have some class time dedicated to the human impact on earth’s systems and the implications for the wellbeing of life on earth.  Many different environmental problems and solutions will be discussed as part of the coursework.

 

 Required Readings:  McKnight, Tom L and Darrel Hess: 2008, Physical Geography, A Landscape Appreciation (ninth Edition). Pearson Publishers.
