I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at San Francisco State University. I graduated with a PhD in Economics from the University of Washington. I have a masters degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics and an undergraduate BA degree in Economics (with honours) from Jadavpur University in India.
My primary area of research is in Health and Development Economics. Related
areas of interest include Economics of Gender and Family, Economic Demography
and Public Policy. I teach
undergraduate courses in Microeconomics, Health Economics and Economics of Gender and
graduate courses in Microeconomics and Public policy. I am also closely
associated with the Institute of Civic and Community Engagement at SFSU where I
lend my research expertise in examining policy-related questions of importance
to the local community.
