President's Message

Welcome
to the website of the Association of Chinese Political Studies (ACPS). Since
1995, ACPS has provided leadership and information to
the scholarly community of Chinese political studies. ACPS’s vision is to
advance excellence in all aspects of Chinese political studies. To this
end, ACPS provides its members with invaluable services including first-rate
conferences and publications; works with educational and research
institutions to build collaborative projects; and
promotes the intellectual development of Chinese political studies.
We
just concluded a successful conference on "China after the 17th Party
Congress" from October 11-12, 2008 at Missouri State University, hosted and
co-sponsored Missouri State University Graduate Program in International
Affairs and Political Science Department.
Professor Deng Zhenglai, Dean of Fudan University’s National
Institute of Advanced Studies on Social Sciences (IAS-Fudan),
and Professor Yang Dali of University of Chicago Department of
Political Science are featured keynote speakers. The new Board
of Directors is busy in planning a couple of international conferences in
2009.
One will be held in Taipei, and the other one will be held in Beijing. We
will announce calls for paper shortly. Please check this website often for
more announcement and updates.
One of the major additions to our revised Bylaws is the
new
offering of institutional membership to academic institutions that support
the mission and objectives of ACPS. It is designed to
provide a mechanism for sponsors of ACPS to
partner more closely and effectively with ACPS and each other, and
create a channel for information sharing, collaborative conferences, and
cooperative projects. It will be used to support for the academic endeavor
made by ACPS to create of community of Chinese political studies.
ACPS welcome the partnership with
other academic
institutions and organizations to join hand with us to advance
Chinese political studies.
With your continued support, ACPS will grow
stronger in the years ahead. More opportunities will be offered to our
members as we build more institutional relations with other academic
organizations. I encourage you to join us either as a scholar or an academic
institution. Together, we can make a difference in the pursuit of
academic excellence and intellectual development in China studies
